Madill Softball Closes Margin Late, Loses Close Game Thursday; Eliminated Friday

The Madill softball team closed within two runs in the game’s final frame Thursday, but fell 7-5 against Cyril in the Roff tournament. The Lady ‘Cats trailed 7-2 going into the bottom of the fifth. Zeplyn Thomas singled and Kaylee Moore walked. Luren Campbell picked uip an RBI as Thomas crossed the plate. Dahlia Marris drove in Moore on a fly ball to left. Marris stole home for Madill’s last run of the contest. Marris went 2-for-2 from the plate. Ireland Groeber had a hit and scored a run. Laila Pickens collected one hit. Arnold worked all five frames in the circle and struck out one. Madill lost an elimination game 4-2 Friday. Madill plays Lone Grove Tuesday at 5 p.m. on Tom Reynolds Field in a district doubleheader.
