Madill Cross Country Girls Reach Top 10 Ranking, Boys 15 in Latest Poll Published by OHSTrack

The latest poll published by OHSTrack placed the Madill girls cross country team in the top 10 of Class 4A. The Wildcat boys team is ranked No. 15.

“I’m very pleased to see both our teams ranked at this point of the season,” Madill cross country head coach Cale Eidson said. “The girls are coming back from a good season last year, and the boys are building back to where we could be. It gives us a little more motivation going into the rest of the season.”

The teams just competed in the Lake Country Conference meet at City Lake Saturday. The girls were third and the boys finished fourth. They both wound up third in the Tiger Chase at East Central Sept. 8.

Both the girls and boys finished as the runner-up in the Madill meet Sept. 3.

The Madill girls began the year Aug. 27 by securing second place overall in Marietta. They boys earned third.

Madill’s Yadira Barbosa has claimed two individual championships to begin the season at Marietta and Madill.
