Madill Defeats Shawnee in Durant Softball Tourney Friday; Loses Twice Saturday

The Madill softball team beat Shawnee 10-3 on Friday in the Durant tournament. The Lady ‘Cats plated six runs in the first inning, two in the second and the other two runs in the fourth frame in the victory. Lauren Campbell went 2-for-2 at the plate with an RBI. Peyton Arnold was 2-for-2 and scored three runs. Zeplyn Thomas went 2-for-2, scored three runs and added an RBI. Brooklyn Washington and Andi Wallace each had a hit. Arnold struck out six from the circle in collecting the pitching win.

Earlier in the day, Madill fell 9-1 to Duncan.

On Saturday, Madill lost 8-4 to Ardmore and 8-0 to Durant.

Madill had 10 hits to Ardmore’s six but came up short on the scoreboard. Ireland Groeber, Peyton Arnold and Maryn Mancini all went 2-for-3 at the plate against the Tigers. Lauren Campbell scored two runs as did Groeber.. Zeplyn Thomas, Brooklyn Washington and Kaia Henry all added a hit.
