'Cats Edged Out by Stilwell in Extra Frame Friday; Watch on Demand

The Wildcats suffered a 44-42 defeat to Stilwell on a two-point conversion pass in overtime Friday. Stilwell quarterback Ethan Mink was under pressure by Zeke Rodriguez and Gilberto Grimaldo. However, he looped a desperation pass to the right back corner of the end zone and it was caught for the game-winning two-point conversion. The loss drops Madill to 3-5 on the year and 1-4 in district play.

Madill’s Stephen Sisco latched onto a slant pass from Ty Rushing and scored to the tie contest at 42-all in the extra stanza. The two-point conversion pass fell incomplete. Stilwell scored a TD in their possession of overtime. They added the try for victory.

River Shaw caught a 13-yard scoring pass from Rushing with eight seconds left in regulation. Shaw also grabbed the two-point pass as he dove to his right five yards away from his defender in the end zone.

Stilwell managed a TD run and two-point conversion of the final series of the first half. Madill held the 21-14 at the half. The ‘Cats started the scoring with 5:23 left in the first quarter. Reagan Combs picked up a fumble and returned it eight yards for the score with 5:02 to go in the first. Running back Rey Gomez also got on the board for the Wildcats on an eight-yard run at the 2:38 mark of the third.

Madill meets Hilldale at 7 p.m. for senior night Oct. 28.
