Athletes from Madill Advanced to State Track Meet, Compete May 5-6; Meet on OSSAA Pay-Per-View

Madill track athletes have advanced and compete in the Class 4A state track meet in Ardmore May 5-6. River Shaw was the regional champion in the shot put for boys. He will also compete in the discus event. Eli Vinson and Christian Robledo compete in the boys pole vault. The boys 4x400 relay team has also qualified as has Yadira Barbosa in the 3200 run for girls.

Thirty-five years ago this week, the Madill girls won the most recent track team state title. Madill’s girls beat Idabel for the state championship in 1988 in Mustang. Kristi Walkup set the then girls state record in the 800-meter run (2:20.59). Click for article on 1988 Title
