Football Team Stuns Stilwell for Second Straight District Victory

For the second time in as many weeks, the Madill football team proved to be the better team on the field. Three touchdowns from Harlem Holmes and two Uziel Flores receiving TDs fueled the 49-21 blowout of Stilwell. The win puts the Wildcats squarely in the hunt for a playoff berth will two regular season games to play.

The action began Friday with a five-yard TD pass to Uziel Flores from Eli Vinson with 8:33 still to go in the opening quarter. After Stilwell countered with a tying score, the ‘Cats then reeled off 42 more as the game moved along. Holmes’ first score was a two-yard run with 11:52 remaining in the first half. Luis Rodriguez powered his way into the end zone from a yard out at the 9:32 mark of the second frame. Holmes scored his second TD run from a yard away at the 1:53 point before halftime.Holmes later found paydirt on his four-yard run. at the 4:55 mark of the third stanza. Eli Vinson added a 46-yard scoring run with 1:59 to go before the last quarter. Vinson’s pass connection to Flores for 25 yards punctuated the night’s scoring.
