For the first time in five years, Madill recorded a winning season with a convincing 55-6 victory over Little Axe. Two touchdowns by Nick Northcutt, two touchdowns by Stephen Sisco, one touchdown from Reagan Combs, one touchdown by Houston Stephenson, one touchdown by Kendall Robertson and a touchdown from Zeke Fuentes powered the triumph.
The Cats built a 49-0 by halftime and coasted for much of the second half with a continuous rolling clock. Madill wrapped the year at 6-4. The seniors were sent out as winners in the final contest.
It took all of 1:47 on the clock for Madill to strike paydirt first as Stephen Sisco took a reverse 39 yards for the ‘Cats’ first touchdown of the contest at the 10:13 mark of the first frame. Madill never looked back. Kendall Robertson joined the scoring party with his 49-yard TD toss to Sisco with 1:20 left in the first quarter. Jimena Guevara kicked the extra point for a 15-0 lead for the home team on senior night. Robertson stretched Madill’s advantage to 22-0 with his 62-yard trot to the end zone with 5:52 left in the opening half. Senior Nick Northcutt scored the next two touchdowns for the ‘Cats on an 11-yard reception and a 58-yard catch with 3:51 to go in the second quarter. Ty Rushing entered the contest at quarterback and found senior Houston Stephenson on an 18-yard slant pass in the end zone with 2:05 remaining before half. The only underclassmen to get in the end zone Friday for Madill was sophomore Reagan Combs on an 18-yard run in the second frame.
The clock ran continuously in the second half Friday. Senior Zeke Fuentes caught a 34-yard TD pass from Rushing in the fourth quarter for the Wildcats. Little Axe scored after the game's outcome had clearly been decided.
