Girls Bring Down Curtain on Notable Basketball Campaign with Loss Monday in Regional

Despite a furious comeback to grab a 27-26 lead in the second frame after falling behind 20-9 by the end of the first quarter, the Madill girls fell 65-49 to North Rock Creek in the Class 4A regional consolation semifinal on Monday afternoon in Tuttle. The loss concludes the basketball year in Madill. The Lady ‘Cats were 12-13 overall and won the district playoff championship for the first time since 2010. Click to Watch Game from Monday on Demand

Saturday

The Madill boys took a brief 36-35 lead on Chickasha in the fourth quarter after trailing 23-16 at the half. However, they relinquished the advantage and lost 41-38 to end the season. Madill’s girls suffered the first defeat in the postseason with a loss to No. 1 Tuttle, 79-22. The girls face North Rock Creek at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Tuttle. Madill must win to keep extending its’ year on the court.

 

Earlier

The OSSAA announced it has postponed the regional basketball tournament to Saturday. The Madill basketball boys play Chickasha at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday in Tuttle at the Class 4A regional. The district champion girls team meets Class 4A No. 1 Tuttle at 7 p.m. The games are expected to be streaming on Madill’s Livestream. Games will then be on Monday and Tuesday in two sessions at the same sites
