Wildcats Split with Cache on Diamond Tuesday; Soccer Drops Matches in Durant; Lowe Top 10 Golf

Madill’s baseball team bounced back in the second game to defeat Cache 18-9 Tuesday. The ‘Cats fell 4-3 in the early game of the district doubleheader to the Bulldogs.

In the second game, Madill plated three runs in the third inning to break open a one-run contest. Then, the ‘Cats exploded on offense with four runs in the fifth, two in the sixth and five in the seventh to walk away with the victory. Ty Rushing went 2-for-3 at the dish, scored five runs and drove in another. Cash Coble went 2-for-4, collected three runs batted in and scored four times. Caden McHatton was 2-for-4 and drove in four. Stephen Sisco knocked in two RBI and scored one in the game. Freshman James Valadez had two hits. Sisco started on the mound and struck out three Bullldogs. He only surrendered six hits. Jackson Roberts recorded two strikeouts in his three innings on the bump. 

Game one saw the ‘Cats post five hits, but did not score a run after putting up three runs in the first two innings. Cache had eight hits. Sisco was 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. Eli Vinson, James Valadez, and Roberts had the other hits for the Wildcats. Coble fanned 10 Cache batters in six innings of work. Roberts came on in relief of Coble to strike out one Bulldog.

The soccer girls team lost 3-0 to Durant and the boys fell in penalty kicks (3-2) to the Lions. Faransisco Perez kicked both goals for Madill.

Madill’s Kellanie Lowe placed in the top 10 at the Purcell golf tournament Tuesday.
