Several Madill Track Athletes Bring Success into Regional Looking to Advance to State; Streaming

Several Madill athletes have posted some of the best times and distances in the track season so far for Class 4A in 2022. They will bring those top performances into the regional on Saturday at Blake Smiley Stadium. 

“We have had some standout individual performances this season, as well relays, and we are  proud of those,” Madill track head coach Cale Eidson said Wednesday.

Freshman Kaytleigh Davis is second in Class 4A in the girls 200-meter dash with her time of 25.36 she posted at the Lake Country Conference meet at Plainview April 23. Davis also is fifth in the class in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.4 seconds. Korlee Cunningham-Martin has posted the eighth best time in the girls 800-meter run with her 2:30.87. The girls 4x800-meter relay team of Cunningham-Martin, Carol Moreno, Esperanza Hernandez and Isabel Sanchez is currently third with the time of 10:22.41. The girls’ 4x400-meter relay group of Joslyn Stumblingbear, Hannah Elkins, Cunningham-Martin and Davis is sitting in seventh with a time of 4:17.64. The Madill Lady Wildcats’ 4x200-meter relay of Davis, Lexus Spanhanks, Stumblingbear and Hannah Elkins turned in the Class’ 10^th best time of 1:50.74 during the LCC meet last Saturday. 

Anthony Sanchez has the eighth-best time of 2:06.11 in the boys 800-meter run. Freshman Eli Vinson has one of the best heigths in the boys pole vault.

“Most importantly we will keep our eyes on the prize of performing well at regionals to qualify for state and hit our peak there. We will prepare for Saturday the same as we have all season, ready to take on the challenge,” Eidson said.
