The Madill softball team won twice Monday on Tom Reynolds Field. The Lady ‘Cats took down Ringling 10-3 and took care of Atoka 3-2 in the last game of the night.
Against the Blue Devils, Madill jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first inning and added a run in the second inning and another in the third. The Lady ‘Cats pounded out 10 hits and gave up just one error. Maryn Mancini was 2-for-2 at the plate. Peyton Arnold and Zeplyn Thomas went 2-for-3. Thomas drove in three runs, Arnold two runs and Andie Wallace drove home one. Lauren Campbell, Dahlia Marris, Ireland Groeber and Brooklyn Washington collected a hit. Mancini surrendered just five hits and struck out six batters.
All the scoring came in the third frame in the Atoka game. Atoka took the lead with two runs, but Madill immediately answered with three runs in the bottom of the third and held on for the victory. Kaia Henry picked up a hit and scored. Arnold, Groeber and Marris had a hit apiece. Groeber and Marris also scored a run. They visit Thackerville Tuesday. The Madill cross country teams run at the Silo meet Tuesday at Fort Washita. The varsity girls run at 5:50 p.m. and varsity boys are to run at 6:20 p.m. Click for Event schedule at Silo
