(Thursday Update: Madill’s softball team lost 6-4 and 13-0 to Sulphur Thursday night. The Lady ‘Cats’ Dahlia Marris had two of the club’s five hit in the first game. Ireland Groeber had an RBI. Peyton Arnold had the other hit for Madill. Lauren Campbell and Groeber each scored a run. Maryn Mancini worked six innings from the circle and struck out five Lady Bulldogs.)
The varsity football team begins district play Friday night at 7:30 as they travel to face Broken Bow in Class 4A. Madill has not played the Savages in the season since they were district opponents in 1989. The Wildcats’ offense is coming into the game after its’ most productive game of the season. Ty Rushing and Stephen Sisco connected for five TD passes through the air in a 46-0 win for the ‘Cats over Dickson. The Madill defense recorded its’ first shutout since beating Marietta 51-0 on Sept. 10 of last year.
