Academic Team Wins One Match at Regional Saturday; Season Closes for OSSAA Competition

The Madill academic team defeated Sulphur on Saturday. However, the ‘Cats lost to Dickson and Byng during the regional in Dickson Nov. 12. The OSSAA academic competition has ended for the upper classmen.

There are other opportunities available for the freshmen-sophomore group.

Satvik Gondi, Addy Miller, Chance Whitman, D’Mari Austin, Reese Campbell, Mia Laird, Emmaleigh Whitaker, Armando Gonzalez, Krysha Green, Evelyn Munoz-Perez, Christopher Nichols and Kiara Goodwin were among the competitors for Madill.

The team’s advisor is Mr. Ronnie Miller. Miller teaches science classes at MHS.

Academic matches consist of answering questions on a myriad of topics from art to math and from politics to pop culture.
