Everyone was seeing twins today during Red Ribbon Week at Madill High School Tuesday. ‘Twinning is Winning’ was the theme of the day.
“I confuse my dad a lot,” Kaitlen Melson said about being an identical twin with her sister. “And people’s reactions are funny.”
Her sister Kristen Melson is also a student at Madill High School. The Melsons are seniors this school year.
Red Ribbon Week places an emphasis on students continuing a drug-free lifestyle.
Wednesday will be decade day. Thursday is meme day and Friday is traditional black & gold day.
The Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) chapter at Madill High School is organizing the week. SADD, formerly Students Against Driving Drunk, began at MHS in 1990 by then English teacher Cindy Dodds following the death of an MHS student in an alcohol-related car accident. Dodds later served as the MHS principal.
