Madill Senior Porsche Jackson Becomes Published Illustrator

Porsche Jackson has produced an original work of art that now appears as the cover illustration of a book entitled Isle of the Forsaken by Dawn Corbett and Carolyn Fajardo. Lenore Pfaff is the editor and Jackson is the illustrator.

“I do art because it feels that’s what I’m good at and want to be able to give something to people,” Jackson said.

The painting was acrylic that was a sketch originally in which she incorporated several reference points. Altogether, it took her about eight hours to complete. This was Jackson’s second painting as an amateur artist.

She plans to keep cultivating her art skills by completing commissioned works as she continues her education in college.

“It is important to focus on art as a skill because that seems harder to develop,” Jackson said.

She has been in art class for five years. She currently is a student in art IV at Madill High School with Ms. Blackburn.
