Oklahoma became a state on this day in 1907.
Madill’s 1916 football team won a state title. However, that title is not recognized by the OSSAA. The Wildcats have a total of 16 team state titles in school history.
Howard Marsh from the 1916 Wildcats team went on to become the team captain for the Oklahoma Sooners under head coach Bennie Owen in 1922. He was the only all-conference performer for Oklahoma that season. He later was named to the all-decade team by the Oklahoman.
