Wildcats Tripped up in Opening Basketball Loss at Tish Friday; Watch Games on Demand

The Madill varsity basketball team opened the season at Tishomingo on Friday night. Unfortunately, the squads were handed losses. The girls lost 54-44 and the boys fell 57-44.

The girls took an early lead in the first quarter. However, Tishomingo tied the contest 10-all by the end of the frame. The Lady Indians outscored the Lady ‘Cats 19-9 in the second quarter. Madill edged Tish 11-10 in the third stanza. Tish closed the game by scoring 15 points to Madill’s 14 in the fourth.

Madill girls individual scoring: Kristen Chapa 15, Ximena Gomez 6, Lala Flores 5, Ashlynn Arnold 4, Maria Flores 4, Caitlyn Gillis 4, Kelsie Lambertsen 3, Cielo Gomez 2.

In the boys game, Madill played to a 17-all tie to open the game. The Wildcats held a 28-26 at the half. The Indians took the lead by holding the ‘Cats to just four points in the third quarter. Tish finished the contest by outscoring Madill 13-12 in the final frame.
