The Madill girls varsity basketball team topped Tishomingo 50-49 on Tuesday in front of the home crowd at the Wildcat Fieldhouse. The Madill boys club also took care of Tish by winning 60-53 over the Indians. Madill hosts Comanche on Jan. 18.
Both Madill teams avenged an earlier loss to Tishomingo to begin the season.
The girls took the early 10-8 lead by the end of the first quarter. Tishomingo grabbed a 24-23 edge by halftime by outscoring the Lady ‘Cats 16-13 in the second frame. The Lady Wildcats regained the lead 36-35 by the end of the third quarter. Madill closed the game by scoring 14 in the final stanza.

The boys got off to a fast start by doubling the Indians’ production and holding the 20-10 cushion at the end of the first quarter. The Wildcats increased the advantage to 33-22 by intermission. Madill outscored Tish 12-11 in the third frame. The ‘Cats held off the Indians at the free throw line in the final two minutes of the contest.
