'Cats Blow out 'Horns in Second Half for Win, Girls Drop Contest; Watch on Demand

The Madill boys went on a 12-1 run through the third quarter and completed the night by outscoring Lone Grove 31-6 in the second half to blow open a tight basketball game and win 49-25 Tuesday night on the road. Wyatt Gray had 11 points to lead the Madill squad and spark the comeback. Miguel Duran chipped in eight points and Aron Vann collected seven in the victory. Asa Robertson had four points in his return to the basketball floor.

Madill trailed the ‘Horns 19-18 at the half after holding the 11-7 advantage after the opening quarter. Tenacious and unrelenting defense completely turned things around for the ‘Cats.

Jayden Weiberg and Abbie Lambertsen both scored in double figures Tuesday night for the Lady Wildcats. However, Madill lost to the Lady Longhorns 71-50. Weiberg paced the Lady ‘Cats with 14 points and Lambertsen had 13 on the night.

Madill only trailed 14-13 after the opening quarter of action. Lone Grove then outscored the Lady Wildcats 21-10 in the second period to maintain a 35-23 lead by halftime. Madill scored 13 points in the third frame and 14 in the final stanza.
