Owls Clip 'Cats on Mat during Senior Night; Watch Dual, Senior Night Ceremony on Demand

The Madill wrestling squad met the Elgin Owls on the mat Thursday in a key district dual for senior night. The Owls squeaked by the Wildcats 39-33.

Dylan McCullough scored the ‘Cats’ first points of the night with his win by pin in the 138-pound class. Senior Colt Crowson added another six points with his win by fall in the 152-pound bout. Payton Tracy continued the momentum with his win by pin in the 160-pound clash. Jon Venable capitalized on the energy in the gym by pinning his opponent in the 170-pound match. Christian Moreno won by decision at 182 to tie the team score at 27-all. The Owls pulled ahead again with victories at 195 and 220. Griffon Williams closed the dual with his win by pin for Madill in the heavyweight tussle. Senior Isaac Eades lost narrowly 3-1 in the 126-pound battle.
