MHS Students Witness Acclaimed Author Angie Thomas at Book Signing in Frisco Thursday Night

Madill High School students attended a book signing of acclaimed author Angie Thomas Thursday night in Frisco. MHS students read “The Hate U Give” by Thomas in Mrs. Duvak’s classes. That book was turned into a motion picture that has grossed nearly $30 million in North America. Thomas’ novel “On the Come Up” movie rights have been purchased by Fox.

David Dockery said she discussed how her books related to younger generations.

Edgar Perfecto said there was about 200 people at the event Thursday. Students received copies of Thomas’ “On the Come Up” and then had them signed.
