Band Eyes Return to State Contest through District March 6

The Madill High School band has sights set on a return to the state contest for the first time since 2002. They must earn a superior rating from the judges at the district contest in Ada today (March 6).

The band received a superior rating at the pre-district contest back in February at Lone Grove.

Band director Kendal Hasty said it will a difficult task. The band must attain a superior rating. There will be a sight-reading component in today’s performance. The band must play a piece of music unseen before today with only having eight minutes of silent preparation prior to the contest.
