Laffita Latches Onto Second Straight State Champ Powerlifting Medal Friday; Boys Soccer Wins

For the second straight year, Madill’s Fermin Laffita is the state powerlifting champion in the 145-pound class for Class 4A. He accomplished the feat on Friday during the state meet in El Reno.

Gavin Anderson and Braelin Bridenstine earned a spot in the state meet, but did not place.

The boys soccer team scored a 2-1 victory against Guymon in the Chickasha tournament Friday night. However, the Lady ‘Cats lost on penalty kicks to the Guymon squad.

The baseball team fell to Davis Friday evening.

The softball team defeated Marietta 18-4 in the Marietta Festival, but suffered an 8-6 loss Thursday.
