Madill Boys Soccer Club Outlasts Ardmore, Girls Fall; Baseball Drops Two; Softball Stumbles Tuesday

Mateo Fajardo’s penalty kick sealed a 2-1 district win for the Madill boys soccer team Tuesday night over Ardmore. The match stretched beyond two overtimes and wasn’t decided until Fajardo put the finishing touch on a round of penalty kicks between the two sqauds. Ardmore jumped to a 1-0 lead when Robby Musgrove buried a kick in the back of the net with just 13 seconds gone in the match. Fajardo scored the equalizer on a rebound with 17:35 left to play in the first half. Each team had chances but did not grab an advantage. Thus, the extra sessions were needed to determine the victor. Dawson Hoedebeck, Luis Hernandez, Isaac Martinez, Fransisco Perez and Fajardo converted on penalty kicks for Madill. The lone miss for the Tigers bashed off the crossbar.
