Miller Shares Survival Story from Holocaust; Encourages Acceptance of Diversity; Watch on Demand

Holocaust survivor Rachel Miller shared her personal story to Madill Schools students Wednesday morning at the First Baptist Church in Madill.

Shelly Hamilton organized a group of local supporters to bring in Miller to speak directly to students about the horrific and sobering details of the Holocaust. Today (May 8) marks the anniversary of Victory in Europe Day (VE Day) .

She spoke of years of suffering through atrocities connected with the Holocaust. Then she encouraged students to be accepting of diversity.

“You’re the future, you’re the hope,” Miller said to the students. “So we’re putting a lot of responsibility on you. You’re the ones to make sure that this (Holocaust) does not happen to anyone. Green, purple, blue, yellow, I don’t care what you are. It should not be done to anyone. Because we’re all created by God and we are all God’s children.”

Miller took several questions from the students on Wednesday.

She was presented a birthday cake and the students sang to her.
