Madill Schools Bond Issue to be Decided Sept. 10 by District Voters

Bond IssueVoters in the Madill School District will decide on a bond issue Sept. 10 that would involve the construction of a 51,500-square-foot event center that would house three classes for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) instruction and a basketball gymnasium that would seat 1360. Also, the structure would feature room for a hall of fame, locker rooms, restrooms, coach’s office, training room, officials office, cheer room, weight room and hospitality room.

Sixty percent plus one of the total votes cast in the election must be in the affirmative for the resolution to pass. The project total would be $15, 490,000.

If one’s tax was $100 it would increase $8.50 for the year. That’s 71 cents per month. A $200 tax would be an increase of $1.42 per month.

The deadline to register to vote in the Sept. 10 election is Aug. 16. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Sept. 4 by 5 p.m. Early voting is from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 5-6 at the Marshall County Courthouse.
