The Madill varisty softball team conquered Coleman 13-1 on Friday during the Calera tournament. However, Madill was edged out by Bennington 4-2.
Abbey Tiernan and Krislyn Anderson each had three RBI in the victory. Tiernan and Emilie Johnson each had two hit apiece against Coleman. Eight Lady Wildcats had at leat one hit in the win. Ximena Gomez scored three runs. Makenzie Reed picked up the pitching win and struck out two batters. Peyton Arnold worked in the circle in relief of Reed and only gave up two hits. Madill closed out the win in four innings highlighted by eight runs in the second frame to open up an 11-0 advantage.
Madill managed to string together five hits against the Bears. Reed went 2-for-3 from the plate scored a run and had an RBI. Cheyenne Lansdale had the other RBI for Madill in the Bennington battle. Madill meets Turner at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

The Madill junior high softball team scored a 10-2 win over McAlester in the Tishomingo tournament, but fell 5-0 to Durant. Madill junior high plays Konawa at noon today (Saturday). If they win, they would face either Kingston or Tishomingo at 3 p.m. for third place.
