The Madill varsity softball squad lost in a doubleheader to Byng on Tom Reynolds Field Tuesday. The Lady ‘Cats kept fighting in game one and rallied to score three runs in the fifth inning. Byng bagged an 8-3 victory. The Pirates eclipsed Madill 9-0 in game two of the district contests.
McKenzie Reed and Mia Beason were each 2-for-4 at the plate and scored a run for Madill in game one. Freshman Peyton Arnold collected two hits including a double. Cheyenne Lansdale scored Madill’s other run. Reed went the entire game in the circle in game one and struck out three Pirates.
Jaeda Townsend and Mia Beason each had a hit in game two against Byng.
The high school Lady ‘Cats play at 1:30 p.m. in the Plainview Invitational tournament on Friday.

The junior high team won 5-4 on a thrilling defensive play to end the game Tuesday night in Byng. A perfectly placed relay throw on a ball hit to the outfield erased the runner at second base.
Madill lost to Durant Monday night at home. They play in Marietta at noon and 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
