Madill Earns Gold in 'Cat Run Saturday

The Madill varsity cross country teams won the annual ‘Cat Run held at Madill City Lake on Saturday (Aug. 31) morning. Madill’s Valeria Calderon paced the Lady ‘Cats with her time of  14:32.77 and finished as the individual runner-up in the girls division. Defending individual Class 4A state champion Miguel Duran finished second in the boys group with a time of 18:29.39.

Madill’s junior high boys and girls made it a clean sweep for the Wildcats by winning the overall gold as a team. Allyson Webb took the top spot for the junior high Lady ‘Cats in a time of 10:08.51. Osvaldo Ariciaga finished fourth in a time of 14:38.96.

Madill has the Lake Country Conference at Madill City Lake Sept. 7.
