The Madill football team took a 49-21 loss to the Class 3A state runner-up team in Sulphur Friday.
Asa Robertson got the ‘Cats on the board first in 2019 with his 63-yard touchdown run in the first frame. A Fransisco Perez extra point tied the contest at 7-all.
Unfortunately, Sulphur reeled off 35 unanswered points to take a 42-7 advantage on the strength of a Tavius McDonald nine-yard TD run at the 11:00 mark of the third quarter.
Madill senior Hunter Elkins found the end zone from nine yards out in the fourth quarter and Jarod Fields scored a touchdown from 14 yards away with 3:48 left in the contest.
The ‘Dogs got their final score with 2:38 to go in the game on a TD run by Eathan Massey.
