Madill’s Miguel Duran turned in a time of 17:56.20 to help the Wildcat boys claim the team title at the Lake Country Conference cross country meet on Saturday at City Lake. The Class 4A defending individual champ took the gold. Madill’s varsity Lady ‘Cats clinched third place overall. Valeria Calderon’s 13:48.29 paced the girls and gained her sixth place as an individual.
“I was really proud of them,” Madill cross country head coach Cale Eidson said about his team winning the LCC title. “That’s one step towards our ultimate goal at the end.”
It was the Madill varsity boys’ first conference title since 2010.
The junior high girls from Madill grabbed gold as a team. Allyson Webb won her division for the second consecutive Saturday in a time of 9:24.88 for the home team. Madill’s junior high boys secured second place as a unit. Mayur Patel ran to 11th in a time of 13:57.62 to lead Madill.
