The Madill softball team scored two wins on Tuesday night on Tom Reynolds Field. The Lady ‘Cats slid by Thackerville 7-5 and defeated Wilson 17-7 in run-rule fashion.
In the contest against Wilson, it was Madill putting their offensive power at the plate on display. Wilson had broken out to a 3-0 advantage in the top of the first inning. The Lady ‘Cats roared back to score eight runs in the first and nine in the second inning to close out the win in three frames. Madill put together eight hits against the Eagles. Jaeda Towsend scored three runs while going 2-for-2 at the plate. Peyton Arnold drove in three RBI and went 2-for-2 at the dish. Mia Beason added three RBI with a double. Emilie Johnson chalked up an RBI and scored three runs. McKenzie Reed had an RBI. Abbey Tiernan batted in one and was 2-for-3 from the plate.Ximena Gomez went 1-for-1 and scored two runs. Krislyn Anderson scored once for the Lady ‘Cats. Reed struck out two Eagles batters on her way to the pitching victory. Wilson was charged with seven errors in the contest.
Madill welcomes Marietta Sept. 12 to Tom Reynolds Field before playing in the Durant tournament Sept. 13-14.
