Madill Stymies Stuart Saturday in Durant Tourney; Loses to Idabel, Poteau; Watch on Demand

The Madill softball team erased a 1-0 deficit, took a 4-1 advantage and held off Stuart in the bottom of the final inning for a 4-3 win Saturday in the Durant tournament.

In the last inning, Mia Beason led off with a walk, stole second, and advanced to third when the catcher threw the ball into center. Abbey Tiernan drove her via a groundout to first to give Madill a 3-1 advantage. Krislyn Anderson singled to left field, Peyton Arnold sent a ball to right field, reached first as Anderson advanced to third. Cherisse Lehr hit a sacrifice to leeft to push across Anderson to move the lead to 4-1 for the Lady ‘Cats

After Stuart rallied for two runs in the bottom half of the closing inning, Kenzie Reed struck out a batter and Cheyenne Lansdale caught the final out just behind first base. 

The Lady ‘Cats fell to Idabel 5-4 Saturday in a continued game from Friday. Rain stopped play Friday and delayed the start of the tourney Saturday.

Madill lost 7-3 to Ardmore in the first contest Friday.

The Lady ‘Cats lost to Poteau 7-0 early Saturday afternoon.
