Lightning only Delayed Madill's Dismantling of Dickson on Football Homecoming; Watch on Demand

John Venable scored three times as Madill dismantled Dickson 55-27 on homecoming night for football Friday. 

Madill had its’ most productive night offensively in the tenure of head coach Todd Vargas.

Ryan Shahan scored first on a 34-yard touchdown run to give Madill the early lead in the first quarter. Dickson responded by scoring on an eight-yard TD run by Rusty Beard to tie the contest.

Venable ran 49 yards for his first score of the night and granted the ‘Cats a 14-7 edge in the first frame.

Dickson tied the score at 14-all before Mateo Fajardo scooted 28 yards for a TD to grab the 21-14 advantage for the Wildcats. John Venable’s second score in the second frame pushed Madill’s lead to 27-14. 

A Rusty Beard TD pulled Dickson within seven points of the ‘Cats in the second quarter. However, Fajardo ran it 61 yards for a TD to push Madill ahead 34-20 by intermission.

Madill continued to accelerate in the second half. The ‘Cats unleashed 21 unanswered points to put the game on ice in victory, The brothers Robertson connected with a 32-yard TD pass play as Kendall completed it to Asa.

Lydia Wiese won homecoming queen. Venable was named king. The juniors won the float contest. The sophomores were second in the contest. The freshman earned third place in the competition and the seniors finished fourth.
