Two touchdowns from Madill’s John Venable, a touchdown from River Shaw and a touchdown from RJ Morris was not enough for the Wildcats to keep pace with Class 4A No. 1 Bethany in a 56-28 setback to the Bronchos Friday as the seniors were celebrated at Blake Smiley Stadium.
Madill saw Bethany jump to a 42-0 advantage before Venable scored the first of his two rushing TDs on the night with a two-yard plunge in the second frame.
Freshman River Shaw made a magnificent over the shoulder catch with a defender draped on his hip at the goal line on a beautiful pass thrown by Kendall Robertson to score from 20 yards out in the third quarter. They also connected on the two point conversion pass.
Venable scooted in from 15 yards out for his second TD run of the evening. Freshman quarterback Ty Rushing and freshman receiver Morris combined on a 33-yard pass play for the ‘Cats’ final score of the night in the fourth.
