The Madill wrestling program crowned Autumn Bryant queen on Tuesday during the homecoming ceremony at Madill Middle School. Wylbe Roberts was named king. However, the ‘Cats suffered a 54-30 loss on the wrestling mat to Newcastle despite some decisive wins by individual Wildcats.
Madill managed to string together three straight pins in a row for the final three matches of the night. John Venable, Coty Tweedy and Griffon Williams were the winners for Madill in that span. Elijah Connelly pinned his opponent for a Wildcat win that tied the dual at 6-all. Cade Barker received a forfeit that produced Madill points.
Jaeda Townsend won a 9-7 decision in an exhibition match for the Wildcats.
The ‘Cats have a district dual at Pauls Valley Jan. 16.
