Madill Gets Wins Against Colbert, Bennington; Watch on Demand

Colbert pushed across three runs in the bottom half of the fourth inninng Saturday to break a scoreless contest. Madill responded with plating a run in the fifth and three more in the sixth to close out a 4-3 win against Colbert in the Calera tournament. Senior Abbey Tiernan went 2-for-3 at the plate. Maryn Mancini collected two RBI. Maeghan Polster and Jaeda Towndend each drove in one run. Mancini surrendered seven hits in the circle and struck out a Colbert batter in the victory.

Maryn Mancini was delivered a birthday gift in the softball circle Friday in the form of a 5-4 victory against Bennington during the Calera tournament on Friday.

Madill broke out to a 2-0 advantage, was tied and then strung together three runs that allowed them to edge the Lady Bears in a one-run contest.

Timely hits were key from Abbey Tiernan, Ximena Gomez and Emilie Johnson. Brayleigh Thompson secured some defensive plays from the outfield in the win.

Madill fell 12-0 to Caddo in the second game Friday.
