Wildcats, Wolves to Tangle in Football Scrimmage Aug. 21

The 2020 version of Madill’s football team will be on display Friday at Blake Smiley Stadium as the Chad Speer era begins with a scrimmage at 6 p.m. against the Davis Wolves.

The freshmen start the evening and it concludes with the varsity teams. The football team is accepting donations of laundry detergent. Carts will be available to be filled Friday.

Coach Speer arrives from Durant High School. He previously coordinated the offense at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and spent time on the staff at Northwest Missouri in the MIAA Conference. He coached in two NCAA D-II national championship games while with the Bears.

One of his former athletes, Cody McElroy, played for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League and is now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
