Ximena Gomez singled to short to score Jaeda Townsend in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Lady Wildcats’ softball team walked off Sulphur in a 3-2 triumph on Thursday afternoon.
Madill broke a scoreless tie in the second inning and plated a second run in the third to forge a 2-0 advantage before the Lady Bulldogs bounced back with a run in the third frame and a run in the top of the sixth inning.
Maeghan Polster and Emilie Johnson added an RBI apiece in the win. Townsend and Gomez each went 2-for-3 from the plate. Maryn Mancini went all seven innings from the circle and collected six strikeouts against Sulphur.
The Lady ‘Cats lost 10-0 to Tishomingo.
