Madill managed two touchdowns against the Class 5A Durant Lions Friday. However, Fransisco Avila scored five TDs for the Lions to beat Madill 42-14 at Blake Smiley Stadium.
Stephen Sisco and Holden McGahey were able to cross the goal line for the ‘Cats.
Sisco was able to drag Durant defenders about three yards across the goal line at the 10:16 mark of the second quarter when quarterback Kendall Robertson hit the sophomore with a pass for a 15-yard TD. Madill had closed within 21-7.
Later, with Madill trailing 42-7 in the fourth frame, ‘Cats running back Holden McGahey tore through the defense for a 12-yard TD jaunt with 1:19 remaining in the contest.
