The Madill varsity basketball teams lost tough games to Tishomingo on Tuesday. The girls lost 38-36 and the boys fell 50-39.
Madill senior player Miguel Duran was recognized for eclipsing the 1000-point mark over the weekend at the Konawa Invitational. He led the Wildcats Tuesday with 27 points against Tishomingo. The’Cats held a 10-9 lead after the first quarter. Tishomingo took the 22-21 advantage into the break. The Wildcats were limited to seven points in the third quarter and the Indians outscored Madill 18-11 in the fourth frame. Ezekiel Fuentes, Javier Gomez, RJ Morris and Nick Northcutt each collected three points.
In the girls contest, Joslyn Stumblingbear led the way for Madill with 10 points on the night. The Lady ‘Cats had the 5-4 lead at the end of the first frame. Madill then built a 16-10 advantage by halftime. However, the third quarter belonged to Tishomingo as the Lady Indians outscored Madill 15-4 in that frame.
Braylee Schneider, and Jayden Weiberg each had seven points. Ximena Gomez pitched in six points, Mariana Mendez bucketed four points and Aubrey Cantrell chipped in two points. Madill plays at Sulphur Jan. 15.
