Gomez, Duran Tabbed Basketball Royalty; Wildcats Fall to Indians; Watch on Demand

The Lady Wildcats basketball team fell 36-32 to Comanche on homecoming Tuesday night. The ‘Cats lost 37-25 to the Indians. Ximena Gomez was crowned queen and Miguel Duran was named king during the ceremony.

In the girls contest, Madill was paced by senior Mariana Mendez and Braylee Schneider’s eight points. Madill constructed a 9-8 edge by the end of the first quarter. Madill then held Comanche to a single point in the second frame to take a 15-9 lead into the locker room. However, Comanche came out in the third period to best Madill 13-3. Each team scored 14 in the fourth.

Jayden Weiberg came through with seven points. Joslyn Stumblingbear collected  four points, Abby Lambertsen had three points and senior Ximena Gomez tossed in two points. 

The boys game saw Madill held to single digits in three of the four quarters offensively. Senior Miguel Duran collected a team-high 10 points to go with his king status Tuesday. Kendall Robertson put up six points on two treys. Ezekiel Fuentes contributed five points. Mason Coles and Nick Northcutt had two points each.
