Byng’s girls team came to the Wildcat Fieldhouse Tuesday ranked No. 15 in Class 4A. Madill battled, but lost 51-24 to the Lady Pirates. Braylee Schneider led Madill with nine points on the night.
Byng broke out to a 16-9 advantage by the end of the first stanza. Byng bested Madill 10-4 in the second quarter to hold a 26-13 edge by halftime.
The Lady Pirates’ applied full-court pressure for most of the contest. That manufactured turnovers and gave Byng a 37-18 cushion as three quarters were complete.
Jayden Weiberg had eight points. Ximena Gomez, Abby Lambertsen, and Mariana Mendez each had two points. Alyssa Cantrell tossed in a free throw in the effort.
