Madill senior offensive lineman Griffon Williams officially chose Southeastern Oklahoma State University Wednesday morning to pursue a football career in college. The reigning Midwestern Conference wrestling heavyweight champion celebrated the decision during a ceremony surrounded by family, friends and coaches at the Wildcat Fieldhouse.
Currently 12-1 heading into the regional wrestling tournament, Williams said he has selected to further his education at SOSU because of the education degree program they offer there in Durant.
Williams grabbed all-district honors as a first-team offensive lineman in 2020. He was the lineman of the year in the Wildcats’ football program.
He even scored a two-point conversion as an offensive lineman in football his senior campaign by catching a deflected pass against Plainview.
