The Madill Wildcats ran away with a 66-27 win against Marietta Friday on senior night. The Lady ‘Cats were edged out 48-45 by the Lady Indians.
Madill’s boys blew open the game in the second half after leading 28-13 at halftime. The ‘Cats defense allowed only single digits in scoring to the Indians in each of the four quarters. Senior Miguel Duran paced Madill with 21 points on 10 shots made from the field that included one trey. Zeke Fuentes finished with 11 points as the Wildcats continued to distance themselves from Marietta. Sophomore forward River Shaw saw action in the second half to contribute eight points on the evening. Senior Mason Coles tossed in six points. RJ Morris and Kendall Robertson kicked in five points. Yovanny Robles and Ty Rushing each had one bucket from beyond the arc. Javier Gomez and Nick Northcutt had two points apiece.
Jayden Weiberg’s three-point attempt from the left wing at the final buzzer grazed the front rim and fell short. That left the Lady ‘Cats with the loss. However, the junior guard collected a team-leading 13 points on the night. Senior Ximena Gomez droppped in 12 points that included two buckets from three-point land.
Madill held the early 14-11 edge at the end of the first stanza as Weiberg let fly a shot from the center circle atop the Wildcat that found the bottom of the net. The Lady Wildcats had five seniors start the contest and Beth Coleman responded by netting the frirst five points for Madill. Abby Lambertsen had three points from the free throw line.
Madill owned the 25-18 advantage at the break. However, Marietta went on to outscore Madill 30-18 in the second half. Joslyn Stumblingbear wrapped the game with seven points, senior Cielo Gomez added a trey, with Mariana Mendez and Braylee Schneider each making a shot from the charity stripe.

Madill has drawn Blanchard for the Class 4A district playoffs which will be played Saturday, Feb. 20.
