Thompson Becomes 1st Wrestler of Lady 'Cats' Squad to Place at Regional, Earn Spot at State

Madill’s Brayleigh Thompson has become the first wrestler in school history from the Lady ‘Cats’ wrestling team to place at a regional and earn a spot at state. She finished fourth overall in the 118-pound division. Thompson wrestles at the OSSAA state tournament set for Feb. 25 in Oklahoma City.

Her Lady Wildcats teammate Jaeda Townsend also wrestled today but did not qualify for state in the 127-pound class. Madill began an official girls wrestling team a season ago. They wrestled at state. This year, girls had to qualify for the state tournament through a regional.
