The Madill football homecoming court has been selected for Friday’s ceremony at 6:30 p.m. inside Blake Smiley Stadium. The senior queen candidates are Autumn Bryant, Michelle Hernandez, Lydia Landgraf and Jayden Weiberg. The junior princess is Skylin Gray. The sophomore princess is Lily Bryant and the freshman princess is Kaytleigh Davis. The honor escorts are Tito Gomez, Jimena Guevara, Houston Stephenson, Nick Northcutt, Jesus Diaz, Cornelius Smith, Kendall Robertson, Zeke Fuentes and Jorge Martinez. The flower girl is Whitlee Hoedebeck and the crown bearer is Stetson Lawrence.
The theme of this year’s homecoming is music. High school classes will decorate golf carts Friday morning. A reception for Madill alumni members is planned for 10-11:30 a.m. in the recently constructed fine arts building next to the middle school. The high school will release from school at 2 p.m. on Friday. The parade is set for 2:30 p.m. A community pep rally is planned for 3 p.m. Kickoff of the Madill-Dickson game happens at 7 p.m. All-State players will be recognized at halftime. Any all-state performer that wants to be recognized should email Madill athletics director Brett Weiberg with their name, graduation year and in which sport they achieved all-state status. Since 1974, Madill is 34-11 against the Comets. Madill has won the last three meetings. The Wildcats won the last meeting in 2020, 24-14. Madill won every meeting from 1974-84. The ‘Cats’ first loss to Dickson came in 1985 and the most recent loss was in 2017.
