The Madill girls cross country team moved up to No. 8 from No. 10 in the latest poll from ohstrack after finishing sixth at the pre-state meet in at Edmond Saturday. Isabel Sanchez earned third place as an individual and is ranked the No. 8 individual of Class 4A. The Madill football team remains No. 8 in the most recent high school poll from the Associated Press. The cross country team runs in the meet in Waurika Oct. 9 for the next competition as the Reuel Little Classic has been canceled.
The football team goes to Sulphur for a key district matchup Friday. The Wildcats have not beaten the Bulldogs since 2013. Since 1944, Madill is 19-32 against the ‘Dogs. The ‘Cats are 4-0 for the first time since the perfect regular season and district championship of 2012. The ‘Cats are giving up just 12 points per game on defense including a 51-0 shutout of Marietta. The Bulldogs are coming in at 2-2 on the year.
