Wildcat Weekend: Football Heads to Sulphur, Link to Watch; Band Contest in Tish; Little Run Canceled

Another weekend means Madill High School students will be competing in various venues.

The varsity football team has a key district game at Sulphur Friday at 7 p.m. The Wildcats are 4-0 for the first time since 2012. The defense is only surrendering 12 points per game and the offense is putting up 40.75 points per contest. Madill is 19-32 against the ‘Dogs since 1944. The Bulldogs are winners of the last seven consecutive contests in the series. Madill last won 21-7 in 2013 in this matchup. The Madill band has a contest Saturday in Tishomingo. Madill competes at 6:30 p.m. They were second overall in Class 4A at the Pauls Valley contest last Saturday. They picked up the award for outstanding guard and drumline in the parade portion and oustanding drumline in the field portion of the contest.

The Madill cross country teams will not run this Saturday as the annual Reuel Little Classic has been canceled. The ‘Cats run Oct. 9 at Waurika.
