Unseasonably warm weather on Saturday in Waurika didn’t hinder the Madill cross country teams from digging deep and competing. The No. 8 varsity girls team was fourth overall. Isabel Sanchez continues to pace the Lady ‘Cats . She finished fourth as an individual in a time of 12:22.58. The varsity boys reached tenth as a group. Anthony Sanchez was tenth as an individual by running the course in 19:21.36.
The junior high boys squad secured the overall silver. Allyson Webb grabbed gold and her teammate Yadira Barbosa was runner up. Webb turned in a time 9:12.49 . The girls were sixth. The boys were led by Jose Campos’ 11:46.67.
The next meet is the Class 4A reional on Oct. 23.
